MIAMI OR NOT?

Tra i rami del Barone e i grattacieli di vetro: visioni elevate del mondo.

Cosimo Piovasco di Rondò, protagonista del Barone rampante di Italo Calvino, scelse un giorno di salire su un albero e di non scendere mai più. Da quella posizione insolita, lontana dalla rigidità delle convenzioni, imparò a osservare, comprendere e perfino influenzare il mondo. Non fuggiva: reinventava la realtà da un’altra altezza.

E se oggi quei rami fossero diventati grattacieli? Se Miami, con le sue torri affacciate sull’oceano, potesse offrirci una simile distanza critica, una libertà visiva, mentale ed esistenziale? Vivere in alto, sopra il livello del rumore, non è solo status: è una scelta di sguardo, un modo diverso di abitare il tempo.

Miami o no? Forse la vera domanda è: siamo pronti a cambiare punto di vista?

What if those branches were today’s skyscrapers? What if Miami, with its towers overlooking the ocean, could offer a similar kind of distance, a visual, mental, and existential freedom? Living high above the hustle and bustle of the city isn’t just about status. It’s a deliberate choice of perspective, a different approach to inhabiting the present.
